Public Education

PARCA believes in the importance of a strong public education system in improving the lives of Alabamians. A population that is better educated has less unemployment, reduced dependence on public assistance programs, and greater tax revenue. Education also plays a key role in the reduction of crime, improved public health, and greater political and civic engagement.

Every year, PARCA provides analyses of key accountability and performance measures in public education. These analyses each include interactive data dashboards and a written analysis. The data we analyze include the Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program (ACAP) test results, Graduation rates and College and Career Readiness, ACT scores, High School College Going rates, Remediation rates, and results for the WorkKeys assessment.
