PARCA Portraits

Jason began his career as a classroom teacher, spending ten years in education before transitioning into higher education and a focus on research —a foundation that continues to inform his approach to inquiry and evaluation. Prior to PARCA, Jason was an Assistant Professor and Research Scientist in the Center for Educational Accountability at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where he served as a senior research scientist on numerous large-scale, multi-year educational research and reform initiatives. His work has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Education, the National Institutes of Health, and the Institute for Education Sciences. Jason holds an undergraduate degree in Health Education from the University of Florida, a Master’s in Education from UAB, and a Ph.D. in Health Education also from UAB.
